meet the Catalanos
My People
You're going to get to know them really well as I share our stories. Just so you have some faces to go with the names (and personalities), I'll tell you a little bit about them.

Anthony
This guy.
Anthony and I met on our first day of high school, in English class. There's a long teen-soap style story that spans this memorable chapter. Needless to say, I kept him. He's the one who makes sure everything works. He keeps us all laughing, smiling, and remembering to love each other first.
When he isn't actively being a paragon of wonderfulness, he's an architect at a large technology firm and an adjunct professor. Anthony loves to refurbish pinball machines.
Oh! and most recently...he's a potter (yes, like Patrick Swayze).

Cameron
Our "sonshine."
Though I can't believe he's grown this much, Cam is a high school freshman. He has a passion for music and a love of theater. While he acclimates to high school life, he is also involved in various school and community theater productions. He's an avid gamer and a binge lego builder.
He is impatiently waiting for me to abandon the "hill I'm gonna die on" and let him have Snapchat.

Sophia
And though she be but little...she is fierce.

Phe completed us. She brought energy and light, laughter and so much love to our family. Just shy of her 10th birthday, Sophia is a fierce gymnast and a talented performer, following in her brother's footsteps with a love of musical theater. As a die-hard Swifty, she's generally singing along to T.S while she does her homework or hangs out with friends.
Her confidence and self awareness paired with her Aries fire make her a force to be reckoned with. I kind of want to be her when I grow up.

Charlie
Depending on who you ask, he's either "the sweetest man" or a "stage five clinger." Either way, this 7 year old Golden Doodle has no boundaries, no spatial awareness, and no desire to be more than two feet from you at all times. Although technically he was Cameron's Christmas wish (a story I'd love to tell), he imprinted on Anthony during his flea and worm banishment in the basement. The attachment anxiety is strong with this one, but we couldn't love him more.

Izzy
Our COVID puppy.

Some people had babies, some started businesses or relocated. We got a neurotic Wheaton Terrier. Anthony says she's the most dog we've ever had--she hunts the wildlife, goes foraging in the stream, takes dips in the pool cover, and guts any toy you give her. We call her "Belly," which she doesn't seem to mind (although we have a running discussion about her weight and whether or not this nickname body shames her). She gives excessive kisses and like to sleep in tight spaces, like between the toilet and tub.
But clearly she knows comfort.
